The hazard
On certain fifth wheel trailers, the axle spring hangers may bend under extreme and/or repeated extreme side loading of the axle. If this bending is severe or sudden, loss of trailer control could occur. Correction: Dealers will inspect the axle hangers to determine if any bending has already occurred, and repair that damage. Steel reinforcement will also be added to the axle hangers and chassis frame where necessary to reduce the possibility of this bending.
